Los experimentalistas del celuloide Richard Tuohy & Dianna Barrie vuelven al cine Zumzeig de la mano de Crater_lab para presentar el proyecto en residencia desarrollado en Crater_lab/Hangar como parte del proyecto SPECTRAL, además de nuevos films recientes y un estreno.
El programa se compone de 6 films en formato original de 16mm de reciente creación en su mayoría realizadas, de una forma u otra, ‘en el sur’ en su laboratorio doméstico en el fondo de Australia , además de una performance con multiproyección en 16mm.

Valpi

Valparaiso is a city defined not only by arts and culture, but it is also a marvel of improvised urban design and unique architecture. Also called “the jewel of the pacific” or “Valparadise”, Valparaiso is composed of more than 200 different hills where some of the most audacious artists inspire to create their art. Valpi – is horizontally segmented, creating an immersive yet abstracted chronicle of both the multifaceted layers of human life in this place and the politico-cultural fractures hidden beneath the surface. … and then sometimes all the things of the world shout together all at once ‘look at me’ … like everything is a lighthouse beckoning to be seen. Filmed en route to Australia’s southern most point – the lighthouse at Wilson’s Promontary.

Barcelona, immediately after the independence referendum. Shot on black and white film using a re-invented colour separation technique. Dedicated to the spirit of independence everywhere! Constructed at Crater Lab.
Self Portrait with Bag

A camera-less portrait of the artist. Super 8 cartridges placed inside a black cotton bag, the film advanced via a hand crank. The tiny gaps in the fabric weave make for dozens (hundreds? thousands?) of tiny pinholes.
West, Before Dying
