ROBERT SCHALLER

Robert Schaller has built an artistic ecology reimagining film as a human scale hands-on medium that centers human agency, understanding, and embodied practice.   Through the creation and use of tools and procedures like handmade cameras, emulsions both silver and non-silver, plant-based and ecologically sensitive processes, and performance works for film, live music, and dance, Robert has performed, taught, and shown work all over the world.  He received an MFA in Interdisciplinary Performance at the University of Colorado in 1997 working with Phil Solomon and Stan Brakhage, and currently runs the Handmade Film Institute.
